A long drive-way to the river side house is flanked by coffee and pepper plantations on either side. The two charming villas are scenically placed with a wide green patch in front of them. Constructed from a natural auspicious porus rock which insulates the walls well in extreme weather, the rooms are spacious and have large French windows for ample light. In spite of numerous activities which can be incorporated by wood pecker in the itinerary, most visitors like to lounge around the river side. Extremely affable, the hosts are happy to have guests over to their own home for meals or join them in the grassy patch in front of the house. While conversations drift through Machamada’s explorations in Coorg and anecdotal information on local food and life, one marvels at Machamada’s impressive cooking. Apart from the sumptuous food of all genres, the mouth watering deserts is a special treat after meals. Woodpecker home stay is a great place to absorb the first rays of the sun, the property is best for a quiet holiday away from the hustle bustle of the tourists. Activities:  Abundant natural trails call for long languid walks in the hills.  With a running river in your own backyard, it is hard to resist jumping in to the natural water to have a dip.  A jungle safari can be arranged in the Nagarahole forest with prior intimation.  The pleasant evenings always welcome the idea of a Bon fire.  Bird watching is a must in this region.  Natural springs & falls are only a few kilometer away from the home.  Visitors can find out more about the Coffee and Pepper plantations on languid walks in the estate with the hosts.
